About the Therapist
Lee Erickson, MA, LPCC, Grief Therapist
"I had no idea that the gate I would step through to finally enter this world would be the space my brother's body made." The Gate by Marie Howe
Lee Erickson is an EMDR Trained Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Grief Therapist at Erickson Counseling Services, Inc. He provides individual, couples and group therapy for adults, and individual therapy for adolescents and children.
Lee became interested in grief and loss after the unexpected death of his older brother to suicide in 2002. He also lost his father in 2010 and lost a second brother to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 2011. He has a master's degree in counseling and psychology from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
"The death of my brothers and my father touched me in deep and profound ways and it is my hope that through my own grief experience, I am able to help others gain perspective and a kind of new understanding and insight about their lives and themselves. The grief process can be complicated and painful but I do believe there are paths through the process," said Erickson.
Prior to working at Erickson Counseling Services, Inc., Lee worked at the Center for Grief, Loss, & Transition where he was a grief therapist, trainer and educator for over seven years.
Lee previously worked in journalism, advertising and marketing before making a career change into counseling.
